Galleries, restaurants, bars and shops feature the talent of local artists in the form of paintings, sculpture, music, jugglers, interactive art - you name it! You're guaranteed to meet many friendly faces. Look at art. Listen to music. Talk about something new (besides politics or the economy). Get inspired. Drink a glass of wine. Author Jeannine M Luby will be reading her first children's book "Wartz And All" on July 25 at 6:30 PM along the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail in Archbald.  Bring a blanket or a lawn chair and get comfortable.
The book will be available for sale at $7.99 plus tax with $2 from each sale being donated to the Lackawanna County Library System and the Lackawanna Heritage Valley Authority responsible for maintenance of the Heritage trails.

"Wartz And All" is the story of a little frog named Wartz and his forest friends. The book is for children ages 5 to 8.  Luby received a 2012 Lackawanna County Community Arts and Culture grant to help fund this book. Attractions to Like in Scranton

Picture
Lackawanna County Electric CityTrolley Museum: See part of Scranton's "Electric City" history. Visit the museum to see trolleys and read about the proud history that helped to make Scranton so electric. This space is also great for events and parties for big and small kids.

Nay Aug Park: Visit one of the most beautiful spots in Scranton. If you're looking for a place to enjoy a picnic, read your paper while drinking coffee to the sound of birds chirping and water falls gushing or to be a bit more active by hiking, running or walking with your dog, this is your kind of place. Enjoy an incredible view from the tree house and at Christmas time you get to feel like a kid again while you drive through the park with hot chocolate and smile at all of the Christmas lights. And the Everhart Museum located within the park is an amazing building as beautiful on the outside as what's inside. Stop by to see what's on tap there as events take place all year round. It's the best Sunday - or any day- you'll spend in the park. To get a glimpse of the park's scenery, click here.
